Project Manager / Project Engineer
Level 8 with experience on capital development / construction contract delivey. Positions available in Swords and Dublin 7
Our client, a semi-state organisation, is undertaking a major programme of construction of hi-tech facilities (refurb and new-build) and is seeking to recruit a Senior Assistant Technical Officer to assist in the management and delivery of their critical building construction projects in the greater north Dublin area. The successful Assistant Project Manager will be degree qualified (level 8) Mechanical eng or similar eng discipline with strong m&e project experience, or similarly qualified technical professional and will join an expanding team of construction professionals based in north Dublin and will work closely with and report to the senior Project Manager.
The role involves;
Working on behalf of the Client.
Managing outside Consultants and Contractors.
Preparing comprehensive projects briefs in conjunction with Consultants.
Ensuring that the briefs are understood, in sufficient detail by all those who are involved.
Taking projects (in conjunction with Consultants) from; inception, scoping, tender packages, tender analysis, appointing contractors, managing contractors and consultants, managing costs and timelines, through to commissioning delivery and handover.
Developing action plans for the timely and efficient completion of all contracts.
Complying with all regulatory requirements including permissions, licences and approvals.
Ensuring equipping/commissioning contractor is appointed in good time, is adequately briefed and competent to carry out work.
To be considered for the role you must:
Be Degree (level 8) qualified Engineer, or hold similar professional technical qualifications.
Mechanical eng or similar eng discipline with strong m&e project experience, equipment fitout, upgrade or similar
Have more than 3 years post graduate experience in Construction Design and Construction Management roles (buildings).
Have more than 1 years Construction Management / Project Management experience.
Have excellent communications and negotiation skills.
Be competent and professional in dealing with diverse stakeholders.
Have experience in the preparation of briefs and budgets.
Have good knowledge of building regulations and guidelines.
Have knowledge of Construction contracts (GCCC, RIAI)
Have a proven ability to manage and control agreed budgets and timelines.
Be familiar with Health & Safety legislation.
Be proficient in the English language (spoken, written, technical).
Be capable of multi-tasking, co-ordinating and delivering multi-projects.
Ideally you will:
Have experience in constructing medical facilities / pharmaceutical facilities or similar hi-tech clean, highly regulated buildings / critical facilities.
Be a Quantity Surveyor or Building Services Engineer or similar.
Have on-site construction supervision experience.
Be a member or associate of a professional organisation.(ISCS. RICS, IEI)
Have a flexible approach to work and an ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
Have ability to manage complex multi-discipline projects whilst ensuring all deadlines are met.

Remuneration is negotiable depending on candidate’s qualifications, experience, suitability and fit for the role. However, the ideal candidate can expect c €60,000 per annum.
