CIVILS QUANTITY SURVEYOR
Description
Our client require a Civils Quantity Surveyor to work closely with management team in a professional work environment on a variety of civil engineering contracts in the Cork area. This role would ideally suit someone who is Cork based. Salary dependant on experience.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Role will be Senior Project QS – reporting to Commercial Manager and Managing Director.
• Review live project contract documents thoroughly, identify commercial risks, opportunities, and value engineering proposals.
• Work closely with the project teams to ensure all relevant information is captured and progressed in the successful delivery of projects.
• Liaise with site management teams to prepare and submit RFI’s, CVI’s etc to the client.
• Monitoring and tracking of project costs to completion.
• Maintain accurate & up-to-date records relating to contractual administration (e.g.
variations, additional cost claims, EOT etc)
• Re-measurement and preparation of claim adjustments.
• Pricing of additional and associated works instructed by the client.
• Preparation and submission of monthly progress applications and final accounts.
• Take a lead role in the procurement of sub-contracts and managing subcontractor accounts.
• Maintain accurate productivity and cost analysis to support the company’s tendering process.
• Possess, and be able to apply, strong working knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
• A degree in Quantity Surveying or the equivalent.
• A minimum of 5 years proven experience in the civil engineering industry in Ireland or UK.
• Good working knowledge of Standard forms of contract – particularly Public Works Contracts.
• Strong working knowledge of principal civils methods of measurement and standard specifications – including ARM, CESMM and NRA/TII documents (or UK equivalents);
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
• Proficient use and knowledge of software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Ability to work within a team.
• Full Irish Driving Licence
