The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
You will be responsible for automating infrastructure and develop tools that allow our development teams to safely and efficiently deploy their applications and services to the cloud. The person selected for this role will have a strong understanding of DevOps and Cloud software development concepts.
-Leverage the latest cloud services from AWS to implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, testing frameworks, monitoring, logging, infrastructure as code, and container/event-based solutions
-Contribute to the design of cloud systems for a diverse set of internal customers within 3M
-Create and deploy novel microservices for 3M
-Contribute to the DevOps platform to provide scalable deployments for 3M
-Embrace the ambiguity of research by constantly learning new cloud technologies
-Collaborate in an agile, cross-functional team to rapidly deliver software systems
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or related field
-Minimum of 2+ years of deploying systems and applications or GitHub open source contributions
-Experience with high scale web applications, data pipelines or efficient algorithms
-Experience with test automation
-Experience writing scripting language such as shell scripting, Python, or Golang
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
-3+ years of IT, DevOps or infrastructure experience
-Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) preferred, Azure or Google Cloud
-DevOps CI/CD experience with skills in Git, AWS CodeCommit, DroneCI, Maven, GitHub Actions
-Experience with enterprise software deployments and testing
-Certification: AWS DevOps Engineer / Developer Associate
-Experience working in a research and development environment
-Experience with Linux
-Demonstrate the ability to discuss the trade-offs between user experience, security and performance
-Leadership qualities such as excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation), networking skills, self-motivation, and self-direction.
