Role Overview
On behalf of my client, an Agri-Food company based in Monaghan I am recruiting for a Customs and Transport Administrator.
Reporting to the Transport Manager, the main objective of the role is to be the customs and transport administrator for the weekend shift. The successful candidate will be required to work from Friday to Monday between the hours of 15:30 to 2:00.
Main Duties
- Import and export customs entry
- Ensure that all submissions to revenue are on time and accurate
- Liaising with carriers & customers for shipping information & documentation
- Support the freight forwarders in gathering information or other duties
- Support operations to clear shipments and meet service
- Ensure all shipping information is given to appropriate Personnel and also outside partners in advance of the shipment
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed in time to provide customs clearance on export shipments
- Preparation of shipping paperwork and documents
- Problem solving and developing short notice solutions if errors in customs documentation
- Present documentation to Customs for Inspect Shipments
Competencies to perform the role
- Ability to work under pressure and on their own initiative
- Proven ability to prioritise objectives and duties
- Excellent PC Skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent organisational skills and capable of working at fast pace
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of ERP Systems and Microsoft Excel is essential
- Customs Qualification an advantage
- Relevant experience in a similar business desirable
