Job Title: Accountant - Financial Reporting
JOB PURPOSE/ROLE
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the candidate will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, managing the month end processes and coordinating Finance-related activities including projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and MBVS including processing journals and performing reconciliations and analysis to understand movements and drivers
· Delivery of financial information to Group and reconciliation of intra-group transactions
· Assist in the implementation of IFRS 17
· Management of year-end audit queries
· Assist Finance Manager with preparation of reports and presentations for quarterly Board of Director meetings and monthly relevant sub-committee meetings
· Providing input for the forecast and planning process
· Enhancing processes, continuously improving effectiveness, and optimising technical platforms
· Collaborating in a global team and managing relationship with internal and external stakeholders
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
§ ACA/ACCA/ qualified accountant with a strong academic record
Experience:
Essential
§ Demonstrated experience of coordinating and delivering highly accurate output in an environment of multiple deadlines
§ Proven track-record of continuous process improvement and automation
§ Experience of coordinating and delivering accurate output on multiple tasks with tight deadlines
Desirable:
§ Big 4 Qualified accountant
§ Knowledge of and IFRS 17
§ Experience using SAP
Skills
§ Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
§ Strong analytical skills and curiosity to expand own field of expertise
§ Highly motivated and used to working in a self-organized way
§ Ability to build and maintain strong relationships to internal and external stakeholders
§ Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
§ Customer focused and strong collaboration within the global finance function and across different areas
§ Ability to work on own initiative
