Key Responsibilities
Deal execution (primary)
• Own the day-to-day execution of live M&A deals from term sheet/heads of terms through to signing and completion.
• Coordinate workstreams across legal, tax, financial, commercial, technical and ESG due diligence.
• Manage and challenge external advisors; drive workstreams to deadline and budget.
• Maintain deal trackers, issues lists, conditions precedent / subsequent and completion checklists.
• Draft and review key transaction documents alongside legal counsel — SPAs, shareholder agreements, disclosure letters, ancillary documents.
Analysis, modelling and IC
• Build, review and stress-test financial models — sources & uses, returns (IRR / MOIC / yield), debt sizing, sensitivities.
• Prepare IC papers, board memos and decision papers for the CFO,
• Lead valuation work — DCF, comparable transactions, trading comparables, LBO.
Origination & pipeline support
• Track and maintain the Group's deal pipeline and CRM.
• Screen inbound opportunities; produce one-pagers / teasers for CFO and MD review.
• Support sector mapping and target longlisting.
Internal projects & FP&A
• Lead high-level FP&A analysis to assess the viability of proposed internal Group projects (financial cases, returns, sensitivities).
• Partner with the CFO and operating teams to pressure-test internal investment proposals before commitment.
• Provide ongoing financial oversight on approved internal projects through to delivery.
Post-completion & portfolio
• Hand-off to portfolio / operational teams on close
• Support refinancings, bolt-ons and exit planning on existing portfolio companies.
Experience
• 6–10 years' experience in M&A, ideally a blend of Big 4 Transaction Services / Corporate Finance, investment banking, private equity, or family office / principal investment.
• Demonstrable record of taking deals from term sheet to completion — not just diligence.
• Comfort across sectors; the firms exposure spans renewables, hospitality, property and listed equities. Comfortable getting up to speed at short notice on a sector or topic they know nothing about.
• Irish / UK market experience essential; broader EU experience a plus.
• Recognises this role spans both inorganic investment (M&A) opportunities and organic (internal) projects, and is energised by both.
Qualifications
• ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CFA — strong preference for chartered accountancy training.
• Strong academic record.
Technical skills
• First-class financial modelling — operating models, returns, debt schedules, sensitivities.
• Confident reading and negotiating SPAs and ancillary documents with legal counsel.
• Strong grasp of Irish tax structuring on transactions (acquisition structuring, participation exemption, HoldCo regimes).
• Excel / PowerPoint / Word to a high standard; comfortable with data rooms and DD platforms.
• Demonstrable ability to get up to speed quickly on the investment side — modelling and completing the work required for the Group to make an investment decision.
• Strong skills and experience in building and maintaining checklists / issues lists, and producing crisp teaser documents that allow timely decision-making on opportunities.
