Managing Director- Business Development · New York, New York
Working with the Global Business Development Team, the Managing Director will direct the business development activities of the organization globally. Driving new business for the company, the Managing Director plays a key role in the company’s bottom line.
What you will be doing:
•Advises on hedge funds and other alternative investments, structuring and service offshore fund business solutions and regulatory compliance solutions for new, emerging and established asset managers through prospecting and cross sales to existing client base.
•Thoroughly review information, opinions, reports, or statements, including financial statements and other financial data, which are prepared or presented by others.
•Act to the furthest extent possible in a disinterested manner and are not be influenced by any financial or personal interest in the matter under consideration and fully disclose any possible financial or personal interests in the matter under consideration, in all the circumstances and act in a manner fair to the company.
•Exercise its highest business judgment and endeavor that business decisions are taken in the absence of fraud, bad faith, or abuse of discretion.
•Be faced with decisions that require special knowledge or expertise one does not possess or cannot readily obtain. Therefore relying reasonably upon information presented by others to make the decision.
•In-depth knowledge of Global funds and all Company products and services.
•Keep abreast of all regulatory changes.
•Actively question methods and processes with the key to making the team more effective and efficient.
•Able and willing to take on additional duties as and when required including covering for colleagues when they are out of office.
•Promote team building and communication with the international offices to ensure cohesive approaches and organization culture.
•Generate business development plan and meet new revenue targets for the New York office and for other global regions
•Coach and mentor more junior members of the Global Business Development team.
•Follows Company Code of Conduct and lead by example.
•Proactive management of the sales teams
•Liaise and negotiate with vendors and service providers.
•Support the Global Business Development team on global fund opportunities as the subject matter expert.
•Work with International Operations to ensure general operations, administration and office management is run smoothly.
•Work with the senior management team to ensure all possible business development avenues are pursued.
•Responsible for the generation of new business sales revenue and also for the overall development and growth of the Company’s profile and reputation.
•Complete all database and regulatory projects in coordination with the operations team.
•Develops strategies for establishing partnerships and business relationships to market product offerings and services, across the full business lines of the Company Offshore Investment Services and regulatory compliance solutions
•Identifies market opportunities which will contribute towards the development of new programs and products.
•Manages relationships with all prospects, clients and partners.
•Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and exercise best fund governance practices for all engagements.
•Liaise with attorneys, investment managers, brokers, auditors and other financial service providers around the world as the primary contact.
•Frequent client presentations, demonstrations as well as the preparation of in-depth proposals and detailed quotes.
You will have:
•Experience of successfully leading and managing a team of client service professionals.
•A minimum of 10 years post-qualification senior financial services experience. Investment fund, regulatory compliance and investment industry experience required, with a proven track record of advancement.
•Candidate must display technical competency in the Investment Fund industry.
•Candidate must have strong business development and networking skills, be highly motivated, and adept at building relationships in the US and internationally.
•Outstanding time management, organizational skills, oral/written communication skills, critical thinking and attention to detail is required.
•Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment including reporting and providing support to various members of the team.
