Medical Scientist required for permanent position in with leading specialist hospital, North Dublin.
Our client is a leading specialist hospital in North Dublin who have an exiting opportunity in the microbiology dept of the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB) diagnostic laboratory.
Working in cooperation with the senior Medical Scientist and Laboratory Manager, your duties will include but are not limited to:
•Participating in future development of the Laboratory Service that supports the clinical needs of the patients
•Participating in the implementation of a ‘quality management’ programme which is patient centred and which measures and audits performance and user satisfaction.
•Actively participating in and promoting continuing education and research activities consistent with the position.
•Conducting routine inspections of laboratory equipment in their charge and to ensure that the equipment is properly maintained and kept in a serviceable condition.
•Collaborating with the Senior Medical Scientists and Laboratory Manager in the maintenance of efficiency and the introduction of new methods in the Laboratory.
•Contributing to the support of research activities in the Hospital to which services are provided and to keep abreast of scientific and medical research and participate fully in the development of the post.

The post holder is responsible for their continuous professional and personal self-development.
The Candidate:
•A B.Sc. in Medical Science as recognised or eligible for recognition by the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine
•CORU registered where applicable
•Some relevant disciplinary experience, placement experience will be considered.
•Post graduate experience in microbiology, a major advantage
•Professional approach to work
•Excellent organisational and communication skills
