Occupational Therapy Assistant- Acute Hospital
Occupational Therapy Assistant required for long term locum role in an acute hospital setting.
The Occupational Therapy Assistant will work under the direction and guidance of the Occupational Therapist to support the provision of Occupational Therapy Services.
This role will also involve duties around equipment management and maintenance.
The primary role of the Occupational Therapy Assistant is to assist the Occupational Therapist in the implementation of the treatment programme as determined by the Occupational Therapist.
The role involves collaborating with the Occupational Therapist, while demonstrating a knowledge of the practice of the Occupational Therapist and the role of the Occupational Therapy Assistant.
The Occupational Therapy Assistant will understand and demonstrate skills required to support the patient in all aspects of the Occupational Therapy intervention, on a background of being familiar with human anatomy and physiology (with emphasis on the musculoskeletal system) and being familiar with common medical conditions and their clinical features

Interested candidates will have a qualification for Occupational Therapy Assistants is the FETAC (NCVA Level 5) Health Care Support Certificate including the modules on Occupational Therapy Assistant Theory and Occupational Therapy Assistant Practice or equivalent.
The role also may be interest to an Occupational Therapist qualified outside the Republic of Ireland who is pending their qualification.
