SK Biotek Ireland are currently seeking to recruit a Process Chemist within the small-scale plant operations. The Process Chemist will be responsible for the manufacture of APIs and Intermediates, including the technical transfer and validation of new chemical processes.
Some of the successful candidate’s responsibilities will include;
Batch processing, cleaning, validation, troubleshooting, process support and the support of ongoing Operational Excellence and other department projects as appropriate.
Plant operations are performed in a safe manner and to GMP standards.
New Product Introductions working with R&D and other departments as appropriate from existing/new customers and supporting business development with plant tours for potential customers.
Member of site emergency response team (if required).
Responsible for carrying out real time data input & transactions for operations within the shift, e.g. SAP, IT & Delta V systems
Ensuring the plant in an audit ready state and that all documentation is completed to expected cGMP standards.
Meeting plants key performance indicators such as throughput, yield and changeover targets.
Candidates should possess good interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
Proven ability to work on one’s own initiative without close supervision.
Proven ability to work as part of a team is essential for this role.
A degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or other science discipline and/or previous experience (4+ years) working within the pharmaceutical industry.
Knowledge and a background in chemistry or chemical engineering is preferred, API/small molecule experience a significant advantage.
Previous experience in the scale-up or tech transfer of new products and OPEX certification would also be an advantage.
This position is graded as a D3 permanent position. Within the role of Process Chemist you may be required to work across all areas of manufacturing, Small Scale Manufacturing and Large Scale Manufacturing.
