On behalf of my client, I currently look to hire an experienced Production Manager to join expanding team. The company designs, manufactures and installs any size modular building and continuously develops and researches new and innovative ways of giving the customer the most cost-effective product.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Initiate, implement, and manage the operations of the manufacturing facility based on best practices.
- Communicate directly with all departments in the production of units and the management of the manufacturing operations ensuring that all products are produced to the required quality standard, within scheduled time and strict delivery dates
- Organising Weekly Production meetings with heads of all departments to ensure production scheduling operates seamlessly for the week ahead including offsite works.
- Liaising directly with Contractors both for onsite and offsite works
- End of week Production Reports covering WIP for the week and scheduling of work for the week ahead
- Monitor stock of raw material and in conjunction with the Purchasing Manager and stores manager, initiate reordering when necessary based on specs to the floor.
- Implement Continuous Improvements in processes and problem solving within the manufacturing operations
- Monitor key production metrics such as throughput, production schedule compliance, final quality control checks etc., and initiate stronger efficiency plans where required.
- Manage personnel ensuring they are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated
- Ensure Health & Safety standards are adhered to and promoted
- Report/Document accidents/incidents/ observations
- Promote a safety-first culture, quickly identify & resolve any safety hazards.
- Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Conducts employee performance reviews and quantify their contribution to production output.
- Ongoing training and development of department personnel.
- Have Process Engineering / Mechanical Engineering degree or similar qualification
- Previous use of ERP Systems is advantageous and strong knowledge base in the Microsoft Office applications.
- Capable of understanding the underlying processes across the full remit of the role.
- Strong interpersonal skills, provide leadership and motivation to create a strong team culture within the production department and drive a culture of Continuous Improvement within the department
- Strong business acumen and Lean Management Skills.
- Proven track record of strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks, adapt to changing priorities, deliver on targets and meet task / project deadlines.
- A positive and flexible attitude and self-starting ability.
- Good understanding of planned and preventative maintenance.
