You will lead the network upgrade programme end to end. This network is being upgraded to provide a new NGN Fibre and radio based transmission solution to nationwide sites.
Role –
Develop detailed network upgrade plan, budget management.
Implement and manage network upgrade plan within budget and timelines.
Management of third party suppliers.
Ensure compliance with all legislation.
Ensure effective programme structure and governance is in place.
Manage and maintain RAID Log.
Ensure the network upgrade design meets the requirements of the customers at a national scale.
Work with stakeholders to ensure technical delivery to all sites against agreed specifications.
Ensure full testing of the core network and the hand over of sites to operations.
Manage communications, project documentation and presentation to exec level.
Key Deliverables –
Ensure that appropriate sites designs and permissions and approvals for site containment are in place to allow the delivery of fibre and/or microwave solutions to each site.
Ensure the design of the solution for each site meets the overall resilience requirement.
Manage the successful, re-commissioning, integration and testing of base-stations with the upgraded core network and manage acceptance into operation as the end point for the upgrade process.
Ensure that the overall programme is delivered within budget and timescale and is tightly integrated with the core network upgrade programme.
Skills required –
5-10 years experience at programme management level within a technical, telecoms environment.
PMP or Prince II Certified.
Experienced in leading large scale infrastructure projects in telecoms and public sector with knowledge of fibre and microwave technologies.
Excellent relationship management in a multi stakeholder environment.
An understanding of site acquisition, licensing, design and construction processes.
