QA Test Automation Engineer
12 month contract - day rate
Hybrid - Dublin
The ideal candidate will have 4+ years’ experience working in a test automation role. They will be confident to hit the ground running and take ownership of automation projects assigned to them.
Why this role is important to us
The purpose of this role is to contribute to the core trading and investment applications, the end users of which include internal staff as well as external third-party clients. Tasks will include automated test design, creation and maintenance, working closely with QA test analysts and project development teams.
What you will be responsible for
· Participate in all project related meetings to get better understanding of core applications and requirements from Business Team.
· Create and / or maintain automated test suites for a wide variety of new and existing investment systems for ongoing application releases: functional, API and regression testing.
· Ensure accurate reporting of all test results, communicate to development, business analysts, project managers and business sponsors.
· Input and enhancement to QA test automation strategy.
· Liaise with IT operations and development teams in accordance with release procedure, as required.
Essential Experience
· 4+ years proven background as a test automation engineer.
· Expertise with test automation tools and scripting languages.
· Java
· At least one of: Selenium, PlayWright, Cypress or another similar tool for web UI automation
· CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Git, etc.
· BDD: Development with Cucumber / Gherkin or similar.
Desirable Experience
· Automated API test development
· AI assisted development tools: Codex, Claude, etc.
· Desirable but not essential: SmartBear TestComplete
· Agile methodology and tools

Education & Preferred Qualifications
Expected third level qualification in a technical or business-related discipline.
