One of our clients in the finance industry is seeking to hire a DBA to join their team. The database administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and applying security measures for company databases. Their duties include monitoring, creating account data for authorized individuals and upgrading database architecture
Design and implement SQL and Oracle server databases in line with business applications needs.
Assess proposed changes, which affect data storage and usage requirements.
Update the database infrastructure appropriately to accommodate changes without loss of performance or data integrity.
Implement physical database designs to support transactional data requirements for performance and availability.
Develop and maintain specialist knowledge of database and data concepts, design principles, architectures, software and tools with a particular emphasis on MS SQL server technologies.
Monitor database performance and activity and proactively identify and investigate problems and issues.
Recommend solutions and implement data base changes designed to address performance issues.
Perform routine configuration, installation, and reconfiguration of database and related products.
Automate regular database activity such as backups and test environment provision.
Proven working experience as a Database Administrator
Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications
Excellent knowledge of high availability, data backup, recovery, security, integrity within SQL
Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding
Minimum 3 years' experience as a SQL Database Administrator using Microsoft tools.
Expert in MS SQL 2016+
Working knowledge of Oracle and SQL
Expert in database design and maintenance
Must be willing to travel between Navan and Dublin offices
