Senior Cloud Engineering Manager - Galway

What you'll do:
This Platform is an internally developed innovative cloud-stack that powers Cloud Solutions. It is the foundation to a rich set of cloud services in networking, data services, high performance computing and compute operations management.
The team offers the opportunity to apply your knowledge and experience to contribute to architecting and building the platform and applications on a top distributed backend. Be part of a fast-paced development team and learn how to build solutions that make a difference.
Your role will be to set up and manage a new engineering team who will be responsible for implementing a zero trust security architecture across this Platform.
Specifically your focus will be on building out advanced security solutions on the platform in the areas of authorization, hardware attestation, secrets management or authorization.
You will build, own and cultivate a new software engineering team from the ground up. They will integrate into a multisite organization, delivering a large solution, using a scalable agile framework, continuous integration, continuous delivery and ground up test automation.
You will be responsible for coaching your team and supporting their technology maturation. Your team's components will integrate seamlessly with other parts of the platform. You will be required to build 360' relationships within the organization always creating a meaningful roadmap for your team.
The role is technical. You will be required to cultivate your own technical knowledge and create a culture of continuous learning in the organization.
You will work with Product Management to help groom requirements and refine them in size to meet your capacity. You will be responsible for translation of those requirements into technical work packages for implementation by your team. Quality is critically important in the organization. Your default will be that all features you create are auto tested allowing for continuous feature delivery through the organizations pipelines.

The Technology:
The development uses a suite of contemporary technologies typically of any large native cloud development. We will invest in you but we are looking for any mix of the following

- AWS, Azure, GCP integrating technologies and tools
- GitHub
- Jira
- Python, Linux scripting
- Kubernetes
- Docker Swarm
- Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet
- Analytics tools
- AI/ML suites
What you’ll need:
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent
- Working knowledge of cloud native development
- 3 years + experience as a Manager in a large scale agile development environment
- 5 years experience as a Software Developer
- System thinking skills
- Working experience with CI/CD, open source cloud development tools
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Willingness to work with teams across time zones
- An ability to consistently harness targeted value from your team
- Platform development experience in the area of security
What we’d prefer you bring:
M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent
Implemented a complex IT solution on a native cloud environment
Project Management, Product Owner or Scrum Master experience (desirable)
