General Ledger Accountant (EMEA)
Cpl in partnership with our client are seeking General Ledger Accountant to join the team for a fixed term contract in Dublin.
Based in the EMEA region’s newly established Dublin office, the EMEA GL Accountant is responsible for accounting duties, statutory filing, and tax compliance in assigned EMEA territories/legal entities, including but not limited to Ireland, the UK, the Netherlands, France, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Dubai, and Germany. Reporting to EMEA Finance Director who is based in Dublin, this role manages deadlines and performs accounting activities with attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy, and plays an integral part in developing the culture and success of the organization.
Major Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the financial reporting of assigned legal entities within the Company EMEA structure
- Prepare and post journal entries in SAP for assigned entities as well as monitor postings done by other accounting functions
- Manage month-end close activities; make sure that all deadlines are met and proactively review balances before closing
- Participate in projects to improve the quality in the accounting function, proactively suggest process improvements/additional controls
- Engage with auditors on statutory audits for assigned entities, preparing audit deliverables and financial statements in local GAAP
- VAT reconciliation and journal entries
- Assist with SOX documentation
- Manage the financial close calendar
- Work closely with accounting managers and execute on assigned tasks and projects
Main Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in European Statutory accounting in one or more countries that Dolby operates
- Proficiency in statutory requirements and local language skills for certain countries including Sweden, France, and Poland will be a definite plus
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Experience on statutory local statistics, particularly for Poland, UK, and France, preferred
- Experience with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) a plus
- Proven ability to prioritize activities and manage workload in a complex fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
- Clear and effective communication skills and a team player with a customer-oriented approach
- Self-starter with hands-on work-style, strong work ethic and can-do attitude
