My client, a semi-state organisation, has a new opening for an experienced Environmental, Energy and Sustainability Manager.
The primary purpose of this post is to lead, develop and implement the approach to environmental and energy sustainability. Through senior professional management, promoting and implementing carbon reduction through energy management and behavioural change programmes, developing environmental management systems, and sustainable and active travel whilst adhering to environmental legal compliance.

They are actively working towards creating a truly green campus that benefits patients, staff and the environment. In line with this vision a Green Campus Committee has recently been established to lead this work.
Professional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support, promote and actively participate in sustainable energy, decarbonisation, water and transport initiatives to create a more sustainable, low carbon and efficient environment; gy usage and carbon emissions through behavioural awareness programs and through the establishment of Energy Management Teams.
· Ensure the development and delivery of an energy efficiency capital plan, including both short-, medium- and long-term priorities and maintain an active pipeline of business cases, seeing approved projects through implementation and measuring and verifying savings. Ensure that successful initiatives are replicated across the group where possible.
· Provide advice on energy investment initiatives and recommend best use of financial resources.
· Ensure that due account of energy and energy efficiency is taken in planning capital schemes.
Essential Criteria:
· Hold a Level 8 (or higher) Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) major academic award in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Sustainable Energy Engineering (or equivalent) accredited by the relevant professional institute, Engineers Ireland.
· Have had at least five years’ satisfactory experience after attaining the qualification at (i) (ii) (iii) above, in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, including adequate experience in the design, project management and construction of buildings or in the installation or maintenance of the mechanical, electrical and heating services of such buildings.
· Specialist knowledge and experience in energy management, sustainability and environmental management including strategic awareness, business case preparation and presentations.
· Knowledge and experience of energy management, energy systems and renewable energy.
