REVENUE MANAGER
My client, a global technology organisation, seeks to hire an experienced Revenue Manager to oversee Revenue Accounting and Controls (RAC) across EMEA. This is a hands-on and operational leadership role responsible for all EMEA activity relating to revenue recognition, invoicing, reporting, and financial controls. The role includes leadership of up to 15 direct and indirect reports across the region. The position is based in Galway and reports to the Local Senior Finance Manager with a dotted line to Finance Managers throughout Europe. The successful candidate will partner with senior stakeholders to support a €400M+ sales organisation and must bring strong management capability, systems knowledge, and intercultural experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee all EMEA revenue operations including recording, review, and reconciliation of more than €400 million in annual sales orders, ensuring compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
• Manage revenue recognition, deferred revenue, VAT, and GAAP/IFRS accuracy and integrity across the region.
• Perform analysis, investigation, and reporting to support EMEA financial performance.
• Lead and develop the EMEA Revenue and Controls (RAC) team, implementing structured training, coaching, and career development programs.
• Assess team performance using data-driven measurement to ensure productivity, accuracy, and efficiency across the organisation.
• Manage within a matrix structure, aligning priorities with Country Controllers, Sales Leaders, and Finance Managers across EMEA.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Support, Financial Systems, and global RAC teams to streamline workflows and drive continuous process improvement.
• Support global and regional process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing waste and improving cycle times.
• Assist with the preparation and review of financial reports including balance sheets, contribution margin, cash, and accounts receivable.
• Develop expertise in the organisation’s financial systems, licensing structures, pricing models, account hierarchy, and commissions framework.
• Work with the Financial Systems team to identify inefficiencies, propose workflow enhancements, and support testing and training for system updates.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, including GDPR and data protection requirements, safeguarding the integrity of financial reporting.
• Support internal and external audit requests and ensure full audit readiness across all EMEA revenue processes.
• Lead financial and operational analysis of the indirect channel, working with senior management to evaluate distributor and reseller performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of seven years’ relevant professional experience.
• Minimum of two years’ management experience.
• Experience within a high-tech or software industry environment is strongly preferred.
• Chartered accountancy or CPA qualification is an advantage.
• Fluent English with an additional European language beneficial.
• Previous experience supporting field sales operations within a technology or high-tech commercial environment.
• Strong understanding of order management, accounts receivable, sales operations, and revenue reporting.
• Demonstrated leadership experience including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Strong ERP experience including GL and CRM systems exposure.
• Knowledge of sales administration, sales operations processes, and revenue workflows.
• Experience using analytical tools, reporting tools, and data mining techniques.
