Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer

Location: Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid) - remote within Ireland
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Fabric Platform Owner to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of Microsoft Fabric as an enterprise analytics platform. This role will sit within Global Data & Intelligence (GDI) and is responsible for ensuring Microsoft Fabric is operated as a governed, scalable, and trusted platform that enables analytics products and decision systems across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Own Microsoft Fabric as an enterprise platform, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, pipelines, notebooks, and semantic models and sql endpoints
• Define and enforce platform architecture standards, including data modeling patterns, environment separation (dev/test/prod), and CI/CD practices.
• Partner with Data Governance, Security, and Privacy teams to ensure compliant use of Fabric, including lineage, sensitivity labeling, and access controls.
• Establish capacity management, cost monitoring, and performance optimization practices.
• Enable and support federated analytics teams by providing reference architectures, templates, and onboarding guidance.
• Ensure Fabric integrates seamlessly with Enterprise Data Hub (EDH) and supports certified, decision-oriented analytics products.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in data platforms, analytics engineering, or enterprise BI environments.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating enterprise analytics platforms using Microsoft Fabric or equivalent technologies.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and privacy principles in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Proven experience defining platform standards and operating models in federated analytics organizations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence architecture and governance decisions across teams.
Microsoft Certification Requirements
• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600) –• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700) – Strongly preferred for candidates
• Power BI or Azure Data-related certifications (e.g., PL-300, DP-203) are considered a plus.
• Ongoing annual certification renewal is expected to remain current with Microsoft Fabric platform updates.
Preferred Skills
• Experience integrating Microsoft Fabric with enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Data Lake, or equivalent systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview for data cataloging, lineage, and information protection.
• Experience supporting analytics products used for executive, operational, or governance decision-making.
