Assistant Branch Manager – Builders Merchant (Killarney)

We’re partnering with a well-established, family-run builders merchant in Munster to recruit an Assistant Branch Manager for their busy Killarney location. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected business with deep roots in the local community, known for delivering top-quality building materials and expert advice to both trade professionals and DIY customers.
As Assistant Branch Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the branch. Working closely with the Branch Manager, you’ll help lead a dedicated team, drive sales, and ensure the branch runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily operations including sales, customer service, stock control, logistics, and staff rostering.
- Lead and motivate the trade counter team to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure accurate stock control and timely ordering.
- Drive branch sales and profitability through proactive customer engagement and business development.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and company procedures.
- Step in for the Branch Manager when required to maintain seamless operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a builders merchant or similar environment.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Solid product knowledge of building materials and related trades.
- Commercially minded with a passion for customer service and sales performance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory/POS systems.
- Full driving licence required.
