Commercial Finance Business Partner (Pricing & Projects)

We are seeking to appoint a Commercial Finance Business Partner to support senior operational leadership in driving financial performance, commercial discipline, and strategic decision-making across the business.
Reporting to the Commercial Pricing Director, this role will act as a trusted advisor to Operational Directors and the senior leadership team across multiple regions and blue-chip client accounts. The successful candidate will combine commercial insight, pricing expertise, and financial leadership to influence decisions, optimise margins, and support strategic initiatives.
This is a high-visibility role requiring strong stakeholder management skills, commercial judgement, and the confidence to challenge constructively.
Role Purpose
To provide proactive financial and commercial business partnering support to operational management by:
- Influencing pricing and commercial decisions.
- Driving margin improvement and financial performance.
- Supporting contract negotiations and client proposals.
- Delivering actionable insights that shape strategic and operational outcomes.
- Embedding structured pricing and commercial governance processes.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted finance partner to Operational Directors and senior leaders.
- Provide commercially focused financial advice to support decision-making.
- Challenge assumptions and existing practices to improve profitability.
- Support delivery of budgets and financial targets across regions.
- Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
Pricing & Contract Support
- Support pricing of new and existing contracts across permanent, contract, RPO, and managed service offerings.
- Review non-standard commercial proposals and provide structured recommendations.
- Partner with Sales and Operations during client negotiations.
- Develop and maintain robust pricing and margin models.
- Support the embedding of commercial governance and Deal Desk frameworks.
Performance & Insight
- Analyse client profitability, contract margins, and performance trends.
- Identify and drive margin enhancement and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Develop dashboards and analytics to support senior leadership discussions.
- Produce high-quality management information (MI) and performance reporting.
- Provide scenario modelling and forecasting to inform strategic decisions.
Strategic Projects
- Provide financial leadership on central commercial and strategic initiatives.
- Support cross-regional projects aimed at improving financial performance.
- Balance short-term operational performance with long-term value creation opportunities.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or equivalent commercial experience.
- Proven experience in a commercial finance or business partnering role.
- Strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders and improving financial performance.
- Advanced financial modelling and analytical capability.
- Confident communicator, able to present complex information clearly.
- Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to challenge constructively.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Able to combine strategic thinking with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
