Cpl Healthcare is seeking applications for the role of Consultant General Surgeon – S.I. Breast Surgery.
Reporting to the Unit Clinical Director and service CEO, the successful candidate will work within the breast unit at BreastCheck Southern Unit and Cork University Hospital. This role will involve the delivery of clinical care to patients with breast diseases and diagnostics in clinics. You will be expected to deliver a full, modern range of breast surgeries, including wire-guided localisations, use of a range of localizers, oncoplastic procedures and immediate breast reconstruction.
Other responsibilities will extend to ongoing co-ordination, liaison and collaboration with other departments within the screening centre and host hospital, other health care professionals, managerial/administrative staff and associated agencies. Participation in the Breast Surgery On Call rota is expected.
The post is a temporary, whole time maternity leave cover, working 37 hours weekly.
To be considered for the role interested applicants are required to:
- Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of general surgery
- Two years certified postgraduate training in breast surgery essential.
- All candidates must have full permission to reside and work in the State
