My client, a Galway City based, Financial Services organisation, seeks to hire a new Credit Manager to join their team. This role is a permanent, full-time position based in Galway. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you will lead the credit management team, ensure adherence to established policies and procedures, and drive effective credit assessment and risk mitigation strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Lead and supervise the credit management team, offering guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight.

·        Develop and implement credit policies, procedures, and strategies aligned with the company's objectives and industry best practices.

·        Supervise the credit assessment process for new and existing clients, evaluating creditworthiness, and setting credit limits, including in outsourcing arrangements.

·        Appropriate oversight of outsourcing arrangements to ensure the controls and processes designed within the systems are sufficient and are being followed. This will entail reviewing cases and supplemental customer documentation to ensure effective operational management and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and Credit Policy.

·        Collaborate closely with the sales and finance teams to review and approve credit terms for potential clients.

·        Monitor and analyse credit risk exposure, identifying potential areas of concern and suggesting appropriate actions.

·        Analyse credit data and financial statements to make informed credit decisions and assess potential risks.

·        Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and external credit agencies.

·        Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions that could impact credit risk.

·        Prepare and present credit-related reports and analyses to senior management as required.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

·        Possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or exhibit equivalent experience).

·        Qualified Financial Advisor – QFA (Essential)

·        Demonstrate proven experience as a Credit Manager or in a similar credit management role.

·        Showcase a sound understanding of credit analysis, risk assessment, and credit scoring methodologies.

·        Exhibit experience in managing and leading a credit team, including overseeing performance.

·        Display proficiency in financial analysis, credit evaluation, and credit decision-making.

·        Excel in communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with stakeholders.

·        Possess knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, and compliance related to credit management.

·        Offer adept problem-solving skills and the capability to make sound judgments in intricate situations.

·        Present a meticulous mindset, coupled with strong organisational and time management abilities.

·        Display proficiency in utilising credit management software and financial tools.

·        Demonstrate an ability to collaborate harmoniously with cross-functional teams and senior Management.
