EHS Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the highest standards of Environmental Health and Safety are maintained throughout the plant.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with all EHS legislation, AbbVie Corporate Standards, and Policies.
- Maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification.
- Provide support to the site in meeting AbbVie Global EHS Management and Technical Standards.
- Develop and implement systems and procedures to optimize safety, health, and environmental performance.
- Perform risk assessments throughout the plant and ensure relevant training is conducted.
- Manage the EHS assessment of new chemicals and processes.
- Support emergency response planning and activities, including active participation during EHS incidents.
- Monitor and achieve environmental targets (e.g., waste, emissions, recycling).
- Ensure contractor safety through effective management systems and maintain relevant KPIs.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with safety and corporate standards.
- Deliver EHS reports to division and corporate as required.
- Support EHS activities during construction phases.
- Assist in employee inductions and ongoing EHS training.
- Maintain and enforce compliance with the site's environmental license.
- Promote and support a strong EHS culture, including incident reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- BSc in Occupational Safety & Health (Level 8) or equivalent degree in a related discipline.
- 2–3 years of relevant EHS experience.
- Certified Internal Auditor for ISO 45001 & ISO 14001.
