GIS CAD Technician -Utilities
Our client, a well-established engineering organisation, specialising in the Design, Construction and Management of large infrastructure projects, is seeking to recruit an experienced GIS CAD Technician. The successful GIS CAD Technician will work within the Asset Delivery function, which is responsible for the end-to-end planning, designing and delivery of asset development programmes, and will be involved in the design of a range of Utilities infrastructure projects (underground services) throughout Ireland.
The Role involves:
- Creating Route maps and wayleave maps using Smallworld GIS.
- Managing documentation using document management systems (Netpoint, Blue Cielo Meridian or similar)
- Data Capture from drawing formats including DGN, DXF etc. into Smallworld GIS.
- Data capture from reference documentation in office format or raster.
- Data capture of field data.
- Production of CAD drawings.
- Generating timely reports as required.
To be considered for the role you must:
- Hold a Third Level qualification in GIS.
- Be proficiency in Smallworld GIS and AutoCAD.
- Be proficient in ‘data capture’
- Be proficient in document management.
- Have more than 3 years relevant experience.
- Have experience in an Engineering Design Office (or similar)
- Be proficient in the English language (spoken, written, technical).
- Have relevant Utilities experience (electricity / pipelines / telecommunications)
- Be proficient in Word and Excel
Ideally you will:
- Hold a Third Level qualification in Engineering (or similar)
- Have experience in water / gas pipelines (or similar underground services)
- Have knowledge / experience of topographical surveys and digital mapping.
- Have experience in drawing office data registers and repositories.
- Have strong communications and interpersonal skills.
- Have experience in preparing ‘as constructed’ drawings, manuals and records.
- Be competent working on multi-projects whilst ensuring all deadlines are met.

Attractive Contract role (12 months) with potential to extend.

Remuneration is negotiable depending on the experience, suitability and fit of the candidate.
However, the ideal candidate can expect remuneration in the order of c €50k per annum.
