Super opportunity just in! My client a leader in the FinTech Sector is currently hiring a Head of Pricing to join their team.
Title: Head of Pricing - Western Europe
Division: Finance
Reports to: Senior Vice President, Finance – Europe
Position Summary:
The Head of Pricing works principally on the Irish, UK and Spanish markets. The role is based in Dublin, with travel to the European offices as appropriate based on business circumstances and opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute pricing initiatives for both the existing merchant portfolio and new business to support the company brand’s strong revenue and profit growth
- Timely evaluation of and response to card scheme changes in interchange and scheme fees, including recommendation of pricing responses
- Lead repricing strategies across European markets and follow through to completion and post-audit/lookback to confirm actual vs. planned results and document key learnings to improve the go-forward process
- Support of large-scale new merchant opportunities
- Provide profitability analytics for:
a) Current markets to optimize portfolio profitability
b) Potential new market and product opportunities to ensure suitable margin accretion
- Development and mentoring of the Pricing Analyst, including objective/priority setting, proper mix of preparing vs. reviewing of analysis and general coaching
- Trend analysis and evaluation of pricing system output to identify any required adaptation to pricing strategies or policies
- Support sales, marketing, and local general managers (GMs) to understand pricing particulars/intricacies, including impact of cost changes and competitor actions in market
- Develop Company pricing tool and create structures to automate pricing processes, including controlled self-service approaches for certain decision makers in commercial facing roles
EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of card processing would be a considerable advantage, especially interchange and scheme fees
- At least 3-4 years working in a pricing environment is preferred acquiring/payment schemes/telecoms or similar
- Proven experience with a range of stakeholder engagements from front line to Senior Executive
SKILLS
- Demonstrated inter-personal skills, ability to work effectively with people at all levels and experience, including colleagues who may have another first language
- Strong commitment to achieving deadlines
- Appreciation for using key learnings from completed projects to develop improved processes and identify lessons learned
- Ability to think commercially translating scheme impacts into pragmatic and understandable responses and proposals
- Excellent analytical background and ability to create and review analytics
- Ability to work on their own initiative and to be self-motivated are essential
- Able to innovate and provide work-around solutions to problems
- Able to effectively work for a remote manager
- Expert knowledge of Excel mandatory. Knowledge of database/other systems for manipulating large volumes of data also beneficial
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree level qualification in subjects that include complex data analysis would be preferred graduates in Mathematics, Physics or similar Sciences, for example, are encouraged to apply
- Formally recognized accountancy qualifications are advantageous, but not mandated
- Previous people manager experience.
