Cpl Healthcare in partnership with our client is currently recruiting a Head of Quality, Safety and Service Improvement for their organisation based in the West of Ireland. This organisation is dedicated to supporting people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism, along with their families and offer a diverse range of services including residential and respite care, home-sharing programs, supported living, adult day services, therapeutic and social work supports.
The successful candidate will
· play a pivotal role in driving quality, safety, and continuous improvement across all services.
· responsible for developing a culture of excellence, person-centred care, and regulatory compliance.
· oversight of clinical and non-clinical governance, incident management, policy development, audit and risk processes, staff training, complaints management, and alignment with national healthcare standards.
· leading strategic initiatives, advising on service development, supporting managers in achieving compliance, and ensuring quality and safety are embedded throughout operations.

Essential Criteria (must-haves):
- Educational Qualifications:
- A relevant Level 8 or higher qualification in one of the following:
- Quality, Safety, Risk Management, or Clinical Governance in Healthcare
- Social Care + a qualification in Quality/Safety/Risk
- Registered Nurse (NMBI) – RNID/RGN/RMHN desirable
- Experience:
- At least 3 years’ senior management experience in a healthcare setting
- Proven experience in clinical governance, service planning, safety, and risk management
- Demonstrated experience in leading change and implementing quality and safety improvements
- Experience dealing with regulatory compliance (HIQA, HSA, etc.)
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent understanding of regulatory frameworks (HIQA, HSA, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proven analytical, audit, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage and lead audit, policy development, and risk registers
- High IT proficiency and report writing skills
- Other:
- Full, clean driver’s licence and access to transport
- Flexibility and reliability
- Professional and confidential conduct
- Willingness to participate in an on-call senior management rota
Desirable Criteria (adds value):
- RNID/RGN/RMHN qualification
- Proven ability to develop and deliver staff training
- Familiarity with National Standards (e.g. HIQA’s Safer Better Healthcare, infection control, hygiene standards)
