Role Overview
The Junior Technical Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of technology projects, working closely with senior project managers, engineers, and business stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone early in their project management career who is technically curious, organised, and eager to learn how complex digital and technical initiatives are delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of technical projects across software, infrastructure, or digital platforms
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and tracking milestones, risks, and dependencies
- Coordinate project activities, meetings, and communications across technical and non-technical teams
- Maintain project documentation, status reports, and action logs
- Track progress against timelines and escalate risks or issues as needed
- Support Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) where applicable
- Assist with testing coordination, release readiness, and change management activities
- Ensure project delivery aligns with agreed scope, quality, and governance standards
Required Skills & Experience
- 1–2 years’ experience in a project coordination, PMO, or junior project management role
- I think 3 years’ experience for 33k is probably a bridge too far but you’re the expert so I’ll take your steer
- Proficiency on PM software obviously preferred but key skills will be report writing, leading meetings, attention to detail etc.
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycles (Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working with technical teams and learning new systems and tools
- Proficient in tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or similar
Desirable Skills
- Exposure to Agile or Scrum delivery environments
- Experience supporting technology or digital transformation projects
- Familiarity with cloud, SaaS, or enterprise systems
- Project management certification or training (PRINCE2 Foundation, Agile, Scrum, etc.)
