Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Hybrid working: Up to 3 days per week

About the Job
The manager’s role is primarily to oversee the successful delivery by their team of the CRU’s annual work plans and to provide specialist support /advice to the senior management team. A key participant in the design, development and implementation of policy in the CRU, the manager is also central in shaping and maintaining a high performance, value-driven culture in the organisation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing and supporting staff in terms of coaching, mentoring, along with skills transfer and development;
- Carrying out appraisals for each team member through CRU annual appraisal process;
- Delivering work in line with the CRU’s Strategic Plan, implementing the CRU’s strategy day-to-day, embodying the values of the organisation.
- Development of annual goals and objectives for the team which will feed into the CRU work plan;
- Managing at all levels in a changing environment that demands both flexibility and adaptability;
- Operating in an environment of increasing accountability;
- Providing a clear focus on the importance of managing outputs and outcomes;
- Managing key projects in line with the CRU work plan in a productive and efficient manner
- Representing the CRU at stakeholder engagements, communicating effectively with external stakeholders.
- Carrying out such other functions as may be required from time to time to fulfil the business objectives of the CRU and as appropriate to the grade.
Essential Requirements
- An honours degree, NFQ Level 8 equivalent, in a relevant discipline (including but not limited to regulatory policy, engineering, science, law, finance, , business, accountancy).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a regulatory, policy making or other relevant role.
The Package
- Starting salary of €82,495
- *Candidates should note that entry will be at the minimum point of the scale.
- The rate of remuneration may be adjusted in line with Government pay policy.
- Candidates should note that different pay and conditions may apply if, immediately prior to appointment, the appointee is a serving civil or public servant.
- Salary increments will be awarded annually, subject to satisfactory performance.
