We are proud to be launching a new state-of-the-art technology facility in Dublin, Ireland. The Dublin-based team will play a critical role in our continued digital transformation and will function as a center of excellence for SiriusXM’s global Product and Technology organization.
SiriusXM’s new Dublin facility will comprise a workforce primarily focused on software development, automotive technology and engineering, AdTech, data science, and analytics. Talent based in the new technology hub will be charged with developing and implementing best-in-class standards for high-quality, scalable software deliveries for SiriusXM’s streaming and in-vehicle audio entertainment platforms.
How you’ll make an impact:
SiriusXM is rapidly expanding its services to drive further engagement of consumers via smartphones, tablets, PCs, and connected devices, while continuing to maintain and grow its adoption in connected cars. As the Quality Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a distributed team which validates analytics and data across the SiriusXM Streaming App on web, mobile, TV platforms, and connected devices such as Sonos speakers and Amazon Alexa. At SiriusXM, we don’t just assure quality; we champion engineering excellence at all parts of the software delivery life cycle. By driving both manual and automated testing strategies and aligning teams across platforms, release schedules, and continents, you’ll ensure the data provided by our apps is accurate and delivered with quality at scale.
What you’ll do:
- Lead a high-impact team of up to 10 individual contributors (a mix of full time and contingent) across the U.S. and Ireland
- Own the on-time delivery of analytics QA/QE across multiple device platforms, ensuring critical tracking and reporting data is validated before each release
- Balance release pressures with accuracy, coordinating testing efforts across web, Android, iOS, TV, and other platforms (e.g., Roku, Google TV, Alexa, Sonos)
- Drive the evolution of Java-based automation test suites to reduce manual effort, shorten release cycles, and increase test coverage
- Perform manual and automated analytics testing on an as-needed basis
- Use tools like Charles Proxy to inspect real-time traffic and troubleshoot data issues
- Supervise and support engineers with a mix of technical leadership and people management, including setting goals, providing feedback, and coaching for growth
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data Governance, and other QA/QE teams to align on event coverage, schema validation, and QA/QE priorities
- Champion test reliability, documentation, and quality standards across the organization
- Maintain a strong pulse on platform-specific constraints, user behavior, and QA/QE trends to continuously refine our approach
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Quality Assurance, including 3+ years of people management experience leading QE/QA teams across multiple platforms (web, mobile, TV, and/or connected devices)
- Proven ability to lead manual and automated QE/QA efforts in a fast-paced, multi-platform release environment, assigning work equitably for necessary coverage
- Strong hands-on experience with network traffic inspection tools such as Charles Proxy or similar
- Ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Analytics, etc) and distributed time zones
- Familiarity with release management practices and platform-specific deployment schedules
- Resourceful and self-directed when navigating ambiguous or unfamiliar technical challenges
- Proficiency with Java-based automation through Appium or similar
- Proficiency with Jira or other project management and issue tracking system, including management of filters, dashboards, and workflows
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Nice to have, but not required: specific experience performing and/or managing QE/QA for analytics, event tracking, or data validation
