How you’ll make an impact:
SiriusXM is rapidly expanding its services to drive further engagement of consumers via smartphones, tablets, PCs, and connected devices, while continuing to maintain and grow its adoption in connected cars. This position will serve as a major contributor to our efforts of increased intelligent observability, predictability, and actionability on how our products perform. This position is presented with the opportunity to be at the forefront of our automotive re-platforming efforts, helping SiriusXM modernize user experience, while maintaining our consistent content delivery. The coverage area crosses the services, data, media, and client applications that power our automotive and digital experiences, with an emphasis on identity and access management.
What You’ll Do:
● Operate within a high performing engineering team focused on widening their knowledge of the environment
● Help contribute SLI, SLA, and SLO definition with Quality of Streaming, Merchandising and Editorial teams.
● Highly involved in operational engineering efforts to enhance observability through systems and interactions through media, content, and ads pipelines
● Focus on customer intent and delight in architecting operational engineering activities
● Assist in roadmap definition with stakeholders to meet quarterly and yearly objectives & key results
● Coordinate with DevOps teams on model revisions and improvements
● Delve deep into process, monitoring, and tooling improvements
● Leverage observability tools to view and report on changes in streaming quality as new product features are deployed. Collaborate with QA and Content teams on enhanced understanding of the streaming application experience
● Provide Tier 2+/advanced application troubleshooting and support
● Facilitate the efforts to understand system interactions for key user journeys
● Serve as key member of post-incident review and analysis

● Be responsive to the business in proposing and developing new products and services
Identify opportunities to create new products and services that meet current and prospective market opportunities
● This role will work within a geographically dispersed team
What you’ll need:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Management or similar field, or equivalent experience, in lieu of degree
· 2+ years’ experience in implementing and providing advanced operational support for streaming media solutions
· 1-3 years’ experience in 24/7 support environment
· Deep understanding of media curation and distribution
· Fundamental understanding of the most current AWS concepts and technologies
· Expert understanding of observability tooling: Conviva, Datadog, SentryIO & AWS
· Proven ability to foster and grow world-class operational support
· Strong understanding of engineering software processes, lifecycle methodology, configuration management, release management, and system verification and testing.
● Technical experience in the following areas:
○ Broadcast and digital media
○ Content serving and distribution networks
○ Agile/Scrum methodologies
○ Jira, Wiki
