My client a development agency in the Public Sector has an immediate requirement for a Newly Qualified Financial Accountant on an initial contract. Hybrid working- 3 days in office and 2 from home.
Key duties will include:
· Maintenance of monthly Cashflow of Project Expenditure, updating monthly with the actual spend and details of the newly approved purchase orders. Ensuring the cashflow budget evolves to a cashflow forecast over the 12 months.
· Preparation of the monthly Management Accounts with variance analysis for review with Financial Controller.
· Assistance with preparation of the Annual Financial Statements.
· System development and improvement.
· Support work with the Audit & Risk Committee, Internal Audit and the Comptroller & Auditor General through the preparation of audit files and timely responses to queries and information requests.
· Internal audit (two / three per year) – providing schedules and co-ordinating the documentation for the audit subject under review. Extracting information required by the Internal Auditors.
· Reconciliation of control accounts, maintenance and reconciliation of the fixed asset register.
· Pension administration, supporting the annual DPER databank project and various pension returns.
· Run monthly project cost reports.
The ideal candidate will be:
· ACA, ACCA. ACMA or other similar professional, financial qualification or equivalent experience.
· At least 3-4 years’ experience working within an Accountancy Practice
· Experience in preparation of financial reports, monthly management accounts and annual financial statements
