Safety Advisor (QHSE)
Location: Kilkenny with site visits

As the QHSE Advisor, you will support all matters on risk and assurance. You will do this by conducting regular site visits, assuring stakeholders that the right standards are in place, undertaking regular audits and monitor progress against the site improvement plans. You will develop strong working relationships with operational teams and together identify improvements and practical solutions, while working closely with the wider QHSE team to support operations where appropriate, support and liaise with external stakeholders, regulators and customers.
Day to day of the role:
● Support the Project Management Team with safety activities on site
● Conduct regular formal site audits & inspections as directed in the Safety Management system
● Ensure the delivery of health and safety inductions for all employees or contractors
● Ensure sub-contractor safety documents are produced and available on site, relevant and in accordance with best practice and current legislation
● Advise/assist the Site/Project Management team in drafting and communicating method statements for high risk activities
● Assist in incident/accident investigation reporting and filing
● Manage the Toolbox Schedule for the project including attendance records
● Give advice to site management on training requirements for each project
● Furnish safety reports to head office as required
● Train staff to be competent to plan, organise, direct and manage the safe flow of traffic through roadworks with the minimum of delay and risk to other road users.
● Ensure clear communication and inspection that there is a safe plan in place where there is no risk of contact with underground energy sources or services using cable avoidance tools & signal generators etc.
Requirements:
● Recognised EHS Qualification
● 2-3 years experience in a similar role
● Ideally you will be Sign, Lighting and Guarding (SLG) certified as well as Location of Underground Services Training (LUGS)
● M&E experience is preferred but not essential
● Full driving license permitting to drive in Ireland is essential
● Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence safety
