Salesforce Technical Architect
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and articulate Salesforce Technical Architect. The successful candidate will have strong experience within Insurance (P&C or Health), Banking, or Wealth and Investment sectors, along with deep knowledge of leveraging Salesforce to deliver business value within these industries.
This is a senior leadership role requiring strong consulting capability, deep industry knowledge, and the ability to design and deliver innovative Salesforce solutions that meet complex client requirements. The role also requires active participation in the Salesforce community and contribution to the growth and development of the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as the technical owner for end to end solution design, delivery, and innovation across Salesforce programmes.
• Shape large scale transformation programmes from inception, defining architecture, delivery approach, and optimisation strategies.
• Apply deep industry or functional expertise such as Financial Services, Wealth, Public Sector, Life Sciences, or Communications and Media to translate complex business requirements into scalable Salesforce platform solutions.
• Operate as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders including Enterprise Architects and senior leadership teams.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams, client stakeholders, and third party vendors to ensure alignment on requirements, delivery plans, and outcomes.
• Work closely with Salesforce Programme Architects to align technical architecture with strategic roadmaps.
• Communicate complex architectural decisions, trade offs, and solution options clearly to both technical and non technical audiences.
• Provide technical thought leadership and influence across multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Drive technical governance and risk management across programmes and act as an escalation point for critical technical issues.
• Lead or contribute to design authority and architecture governance forums.
• Mentor and lead architects and engineering teams across multiple locations while supporting capability development and knowledge sharing.
• Lead the definition, clarification, and prioritisation of business and functional requirements ensuring alignment with business strategy and technical feasibility.
• Support presales activities including technical solution ownership, estimation, solution design, risk assessment, resource planning, and participation in industry presentations.
• Contribute to commercial activities including scoping, estimation, dependency analysis, and development of technical content for proposals and Statements of Work.
Required Skills and Experience
• Proven experience designing cross cloud Salesforce architectures including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Industries (Vlocity), and nCino.
• Strong knowledge of Salesforce APIs, integration patterns, middleware technologies, and event driven architectures across complex enterprise environments.
• Experience with complex data modelling, scalability, governance, and performance optimisation. Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud and AI driven architecture patterns is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of identity and access management, Salesforce security models, permission frameworks, environment strategy, and licensing models.
• Experience designing and implementing DevOps strategies, release management processes, automation frameworks, and platform governance at enterprise scale.
• Strong ability to assess business and functional requirements against Salesforce capabilities and design secure, scalable, and best practice solutions.
• Experience creating and presenting technical architecture documentation including High Level Designs, Low Level Designs, process flows, sequence diagrams, and user journey mapping.
• Experience managing and mentoring distributed technical teams across onshore, nearshore, and offshore delivery models.
• Experience designing multi location delivery models aligned with enterprise data governance, API strategy, compliance requirements, and architectural guardrails.
• Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Application Architect, Salesforce Platform Developer, former Vlocity certifications, or Agentforce Specialist are highly desirable, along with other relevant cloud or industry certifications.
• Minimum of 5 years experience delivering Salesforce implementations within consulting or industry environments across developer, technical lead, or architect roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline is preferred.
