We are seeking an experienced Substation Package Manager for the construction of a new 110 kV AIS Substation as part of a larger project development on a new-build project in County Meath.
The role is to manage the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the 110 kV AIS substation as part of a larger new build project contributing to successful delivery within budget and time constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a concept for the delivery of the 110 kV AIS substation
- Develop a scope of works and review the specification for the design and build package
- Manage the procurement process of the contractor including responding to TQs and negotiation of commercial terms and conditions
- Manage the execution of the design and build contract
- Manage the stakeholder interface including the customer, the network and the TSO.
- Monitor the progress of the project
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure accurate cost tracking for the project.
- Identify and manage cost risks, including contingencies for unforeseen site conditions.
- Certify progress claims of contractors
- Prepare and review variations and negotiate final accounts.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Stay informed on Irish construction regulations, industry standards, and market trends.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of the delivery of HV Substations in Ireland.
- Proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, particularly for earthworks and structural costs.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on teamwork.
- Familiarity with Irish construction laws and environmental considerations.
