Position Summary
The Estimator – (EPC) is responsible for owning and delivering accurate and defensible EPC cost estimates to support business development and proposal activities.
In this role, you will work with other members of the Estimating, Procurement, Engineering, and Business Development teams, as well as occasionally with the wider APC team, and will report to the Business Development Director.
Responsibilities
· Own the full development and integrity of EPC cost estimates across projects.
· Establish and maintain a clear, structured, and auditable cost basis with full command of quantities, assumptions, and cost drivers.
· Identify and quantify project risks, scope gaps, and execution constraints impacting commercial viability.
· Define pricing strategy for each scope element, balancing historical data and current market pricing.
· Attend site visits/walkdowns where needed to validate access, logistics and execution assumptions.
· Identify potential subcontractors, obtain subcontractor pricing, and lead the integration of subcontractor and supplier pricing into the estimate.
· Present and defend estimates during internal review and management approval processes.
· Reconcile the final cost basis during negotiation and support its structured translation into the negotiated contract price.
· Continuously improve estimating accuracy by incorporating project performance data and market intelligence into future bids.

What We Are Looking For
- Significant experience in EPC estimating, preferably within power generation, industrial, or heavy engineering sectors.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of contract structures and risk allocation.
- Proven ability to develop and defend detailed cost estimates.
- Experience coordinating with Engineering and Procurement teams.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong quantitative capability.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
This role is an office based position – candidates must have relevant experience. and eligible to work in Ireland.
