*An opportunity has risen for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a Global Manufacturing firm based in Hertfordshire*
A global manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their IT Infrastructure Team.
Upon joining, you will work on infrastructure projects and support incidents across a series of technologies: Network and Security, Server, EUC and manufacturing control systems. The role is part of a team of 6 infrastructure engineers that work alongside the Service Desk team to develop and support IT infrastructure.
As an IT Application Specialist , you will be expected to Work on projects and the support of corporate IT infrastructure systems; support and maintenance of manufacturing and laboratory control systems; Support and maintenance of Server, Network and Security solutions; SME in all areas of IT Infrastructure; Provide on call support services.
In terms of skills and equipment used:
· Bachelor’s degree in an IT related subject or at least 3 years Server, Desktop and Network Administration experience.
· Experience of being the critical point of contact in an organization and working on project and support work across many IT infrastructure disciplines.
· Expert knowledge of Server, Desktop and Active Directory Skills
· Knowledge of VMware administration – vSAN and NSX are a bonus
· Knowledge of Office 365 administration
· Knowledge of enterprise DR and replication technologies, preferably Veeam & Zerto
· Knowledge of Cisco Switch and Route administration
· Knowledge of Corporate Firewall and VPN technologies and techniques used to segregate and secure critical infrastructure
· Knowledge of Corporate Firewalls and VPN technologies (Pref. Palo Alto and Forcepoint)
· Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
· Ability to execute and lead activities
· Displays a positive and professional demeanor, especially in stressful and fast paced environments.
