On behalf of their Client, Kenny-Whelan are hiring a Supply Chain Planner for a Global Life Science Company in Cork.
Profile of the role:
The Drug Product External Manufacturing (DPEM) Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for the management and oversight of supply chains with the company’s external manufacturing partners.
They will be a core member of one or more Joint Process Teams (JPTs) dealing directly with external companies and internal stakeholders.
The DPEM dept is responsible for making medicine at contract manufacturers, located globally.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Implement, maintain and improve DPEM business processes for the operation of supply chains with External Manufacturers, using appropriate processes and tools (e.g. SAP/APO)
- Use DPEM OSSCE (operational standards for s/chain excellence) processes and metrics to analyse supply chain performance, define root causes, drive improvement and maintain OSSCE A class performance.
- Establish an effective working relationship with DPEM Joint Process Teams through membership of one or more JPT’s. Operate cross-functionally to identify issues and drive improvements.
- Establish an effective working relationship with supply chain personnel in External Manufacturers to facilitate supply to the company
- Operate as a Project Manager for the set-up of new supply chains or line extensions with existing External Manufacturers.
- Establish an effective working relationship with Supply Chain personnel in each of the company’s sites that is supplied by DPEM
- Act as business owner for specific OSSCE/Supply Chain business processes (e.g. S&OP, MPS, MRP)
- Identify and lead Continuous Improvement projects as agreed with supervision
Education and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years operational or supply chain experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing supply chains
- Experience in working across geographical boundaries with a good appreciation of cultural diversity.
- Proficient in English to work effectively internally and with contacts in multiple countries.
Additional Skills desired:
- Proficiency with computer systems including SAP R/3, APO, Excel, Trackwise, Power BI, etc
- Knowledge and experience of working with OSSCE systems and processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage/own multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
- Fundamental understanding of Supply Chain basics including procurement, manufacturing, planning, customer service and other supply chain principles
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work in a Team environment to establish priorities and deliver on agreed timelines.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.
- Day role, Monday to Friday and at times off-hours may be necessary to support operations
