Lead Java Engineer
An international investment and capital markets firm with a long-standing presence in Dublin is expanding its technology team. Backed by a major global financial institution, the Dublin office serves as a key technology and trading hub, delivering high-impact solutions across global markets.
My client are seeking a Java or Scala Development Lead to head up a team building advanced regulatory and financial reporting systems used across Europe, North America, and Asia. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you’ll guide architecture, mentor developers, and work closely with business analysts and QA teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions that meet strict global standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 4–6 Java/Scala engineers.
- Design and implement scalable ETL and data transformation systems
- Oversee system design, performance, and code quality.
- Partner with DevOps and infrastructure teams on deployments and maintenance.
- Ensure the platform meets regulatory, audit, and security obligations.
Requirements
- 8+ years’ experience in Java or 2+ in Scala
- 2+ years leading development teams.
- Experience with ETL pipelines, REST APIs, and JSON..
- Financial services or capital markets experience preferred.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and modern DevOps tools (Jira, Confluence, CI/CD).
