Test Manager (Banking)
Overview
The SME Targeted Review Programme has been established to address urgent regulatory findings relating to the SME Lending Book.
The programme spans multiple Divisions and Domains.
Delivery involves multiple platforms and technology teams, including the nCino platform, Locus on MS Dynamics, EDW and EDL, SAP, and IFRS9.
Workstreams are already mobilised and engaging with their respective delivery teams.
The Test Manager will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the successful delivery of all testing activities, working across Domains, Tribes, Squads, and vendor partners.
Key Responsibilities
• Accountable for end-to-end test delivery, including overall test planning, scheduling, estimation, budgeting, and management of RAID
• Develop and own all testing-related artefacts, including the E2E Test Strategy, Test Approach, Test Plan, and Test Closure Report
• Own end-to-end testing delivery by coordinating all testing activities across different testing phases, ensuring alignment across Domains, Tribes, and Squads
• Oversee end-to-end defect management, ensuring timely triage, prioritisation, resolution, and clear communication across stakeholders
• Provide programme-level test reporting using established status reporting and metrics, and represent testing in PDG and leadership governance forums
• Manage vendor testing resources to ensure effective delivery, clear accountability, and high-quality execution
• Coordinate and track progress across test automation and Non-Functional Testing (NFT) to ensure planned activities are delivered on time and to the required quality
Skills and Experience
• Proven experience delivering large-scale, cross-domain testing programmes within regulated financial services environments
• Strong understanding of multi-platform delivery involving cloud-based lending platforms, CRM solutions (MS Dynamics), data warehouses and data lakes, and core banking systems
• Demonstrated ability to lead testing across complex organisational structures (Domains, Tribes, Squads) and multiple geographic locations
• Strong expertise in defect management, test governance, risk management, and stakeholder communication
• Proficient in Jira, Zephyr Scale, and Confluence for test planning, execution, reporting, and documentation
• Experience working within an Agile delivery model, including Tribe- and Squad-based structures, is highly desirable
