Our client is one of the largest pharmaceutical sector investors and employers in Ireland and employs approximately 4,000 people within five sites across manufacturing, shared services, R&D, treasury, and commercial operations. Since opening their first site in Ireland over 50 years ago, the company has invested over $8 billion in operations, solidifying themselves as one of the country's leading and the most attractive employers in the pharmaceutical space. Since 2005, Cpl have been the exclusive MSP provider across all sites to this enterprise client. This contract has gone through a policy competitive re-tender process every 3 to 5 years and Cpl have successfully retained it each time.
The challenge:
While the Client’s brief has evolved over the years, they face similar challenges to when Cpl was first engaged. The client wanted a trusted MSP (Managed Service Provider) provider who:
Could deliver quality talent where and when it was needed
Who could drive efficiencies and cost savings across all contingent recruitment
Who could ensure they were protected from any potential co-employment risk.
The re-occurring brief includes recruitment delivery across general and niche specialist areas including; Science, Manufacturing, Engineering, IT, Finance, Legal, HR (Human Resources), Marketing, and Sales. The positions range from operatives to senior management.

The Solution
Cpl deployed a specialist MSP Implementation team headed by an Implementation Director. The implementation team worked alongside our HR Manager and Service Delivery Manager to implement and deliver our model and service nationwide. Cpl also hired an experienced team to manage all daily operations across the client’s entire contingent worker population and assigned a team of Talent Specialists, specifically focused on niche fields to support key hiring areas. Today, Cpl manages on average 500+ contingent resources across 5 nationwide sites. As the talent landscape has changed over the last two decades, Cpl has continuously transformed our MSP programme to support the client’s contingent talent needs. This has included the creation of a dedicated specialist delivery team, scalable strategic sourcing channels and technology enhancements to support contingent workforce management as well as talent tracking.
Results
Over the last 17 years, we have fulfilled over 9,000 placements and managed an onsite contingent workforce with an average headcount of 800. Our dedicated talent delivery team support high-volume campaigns and niche roles that require global sourcing, meeting all SLAs and maintaining recruitment metrics of 2:1 (for every 2 interviews, 1 is hired).
