Executive Summary
Our client, a household name, is an American multinational corporation that develops medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and consumer packaged goods. They had worldwide sales of $82.6 billion during calendar year 2020 and its brands include numerous medications and first aid supplies. Since 2005, Cpl has been working with the client as an MSP (Managed Service Provider). The contract began with a need for 15-20 placements and Cpl now providea over 1,000 staff across 5 individual sites.
Client need:
In 2005 our client was having difficulties sourcing a handful of temporary production operatives at one of their facilities. As production scales and recedes with demand over the year, the need for full-time employees isn’t justified. As their HR (Human Resources) team were struggling with the task, they reached out to Cpl to fill the gap. Our TEG (Talent Evolution Group) team quickly assembled a small MSP for the client and production levels were on track in no time. Cpl’s ability to quickly source quality talent led to the growth of the MSP across the client’s light industrial workforce, which now numbers 850 MSP employees and on the ground support teams.
As our client's footprint grew, so did their needs, and in 2012 the MSP was expanded to include more professional roles and Cpl now provides a professional contingent workforce of 150 people in engineering and similar positions. This aspect of the MSP runs concurrent to the light industrial employee management but requires the TEG team to source candidates with specific skill sets.
In 2018, the TEG team secured a contract extension with the client for an additional 5 years, a commitment that shows the level of integration and respect in the partnership.
MSP Elements
The TEG (Talent Evolution Group) team uses a unique MSP element process. Cpl TEG provides a full range of services which are broken down into elements. By analysing the brief, having in-depth discussions with the client to understand their goals, and using vast industry knowledge the TEG team can offer up a program tailored specifically to meet the client's needs. This approach meets client expectations and allows Cpl to utilise several aspects of each type of offering. The TEG team proposed applying the following elements to help the client reach their hiring goals:
Programme management
Talent acquisition
Localised sourcing strategy
International sourcing strategy
Talent pool management
Recruitment co-ordination
Recruitment marketing
Employee value proposition
People value proposition
Reporting and insights
Candidate experience
Recruitment design function
Psychometric testing
Cost optimisation
Cpl delights the client:
The Cpl TEG team provides a flexible workforce that perfectly meets the client's ever-changing needs. This is visible in the TEG’s team's integration into the client's strategic talent supplier roundtables, in which the client MSP providers across the globe gather to discuss and share strategies for meeting the client's needs. TEG has also adapted to the changing talent pool and begun international recruitment campaigns to bring in staff and keep the client’s operations running smoothly.
