On June 12th Christina Keating and Lisa Broderick from Cpl Cork had the pleasure of interviewing eight clients at the Field of Dreams, to select two finalists to attend the World Down Syndrome Congress in Glasgow this coming July.
Where Dreams become a Reality
'Where Dreams become a Reality' is the topic and it will be part of a practice workshop which will highlight the educational opportunities and achievements at the Field of Dreams.
The calibre of candidate was outstanding, and it made it very difficult for us to choose just two finalists. In the end we were satisfied that two outstanding winners will represent Cork and the Field of Dreams to the highest standard.
The amount of preparation and thought that went into this morning was a credit to the candidates, their parents and indeed the Field of Dreams, who do outstanding work for adults with Down Syndrome in a creative and team focused environment. This fantastic charity trains Down Syndrome adults to break into the workforce and if this morning's commitment, positivity and work ethic is anything to go by, each of these outstanding candidates would add skills and layers to any team.
