Cpl Life Sciences have partnered with a biopharmaceutical client to urgently hire a Head of Marketing.
My client is a rapidly growing, innovative company that is leading a new paradigm in cardiovascular disease management. They are bringing a pioneering cardiovascular treatment to patients in Europe and have a unique opportunity for a highly successful individual to join as their Head of Marketing for the Nordics region.
They are launching their lead product Vascepa® in Europe in 2021, so is looking to hire in pivotal heads in the core countries and build commercial teams around them. They have ambitious growth plans and will be scaling up over the next couple of years. It will be a challenging and rewarding time to join the business on its exciting journey, with a wealth of opportunity.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the launch process from a marketing perspective, working closely with the cross-functional team members including medical, commercial, finance, legal etc.
- Be responsible for the overall brand/launch strategy working closely with the wider regional teams.
- Design and own the country marketing plan and forecasts, ensuring it is seamlessly connected to commercial teams’ targets and the company objectives, and has consideration for coverage of specialists, GPs, payers and selected KOLs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with KOLs and key strategic partners.
- Support the achievement of the P&L by driving the marketing function and supporting the goal of continued top line growth as well as accelerated bottom line growth.
- Manage the external 3rd parties supporting digital, creative, insights and general communication plans.
- Support the sales force with KPI setting/tracking - to what level is needed? Will ashfield carry out segmentation/targeting duties around SFE work?
- Manage the ongoing marketing budget for the region Can we reword this in line with expectations?
- Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term product value.
- Proactively seek to understand competitor activities, strategies, and programs in product marketing and ensure that this competitive intelligence is shared broadly within the organization.
- University Degree in Science, Marketing, or similar relevant qualification.
- A strong track record of commercial success within the region is required – with at least 3 years marketing/launch experience.
- Line management – candidates should be able to show evidence of people development & coaching.
- Knowledge and experience on cardio-metabolic market is preferred.
- Has a robust local network of 3rd parties and healthcare professionals, KOLs, etc.
- Previous experience of launching in Cardiology, Metabolics or Diabetes within the relevant market – knowledge of the regulatory framework and pathways from a launch perspective is vital.
- Results driven attitude to lead cross-functional teams towards success.
- Change management – the ability to act quickly and decisively within a growing, agile environment.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to lead without authority.
- Broad knowledge of medical affairs, market access and pricing/reimbursement functions and inter relationships.
- Strategic and sustainable thinking; candidates should have strong examples of embedding strategic initiatives.
- Candidates will need to be fluent in fluent German and English.
- Is available to travel an estimated 20-25%. -where is this likely if asked in what scenario, more conferences or is there regular travel to the U.S planned for example?
