Transport & Logistics Manager

We are recruiting for an experienced Transport & Logistics Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy transport operation.
This is a hands-on management role suited to someone with a strong background in haulage, transport or logistics. While the successful candidate will not be required to drive as part of the role, previous hands-on experience driving HGVs is essential, as a strong understanding of the vehicles, routes and day-to-day challenges faced by drivers is key to the position.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily deliveries, routes, drivers and vehicles
- Manage and support a team of drivers
- Ensure vehicles are available, maintained and compliant
- Oversee driver hours, licences, CPC, ADR and transport compliance
- Coordinate servicing, repairs and vehicle inspections
- Respond to operational issues including breakdowns, driver absences and changing delivery requirements
- Monitor fleet and driver utilisation and improve operational efficiency
- Work closely with depots, customers and internal teams
- Maintain high standards of safety, compliance and customer service
The Ideal Candidate
- Valid Category C and Category CE driving licences – essential
- Previous hands-on experience driving rigid and articulated HGVs – essential
- Strong background in haulage, transport, logistics or distribution
- Experience managing drivers and a busy transport operation
- Good understanding of transport planning, fleet management and driver compliance
- Strong knowledge of Irish road transport regulations
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Confident making decisions and managing a team in a fast-paced environment
Experience in fuel distribution, ADR, bulk liquids or another regulated transport environment would be highly desirable.
