Job Description;
Flexsource is recruiting a Freight Forwarder for our client, a busy logistics business in North West Dublin. You’ll look after customer shipments moving by road, air and sea, from the first enquiry through to delivery. This is a permanent, full-time, office-based role.
Key Responsibilities;
- Handle customer enquiries, prepare quotes and keep customers updated on their shipments
- Arrange and follow shipments by road, air and sea, solving problems quickly when delays occur
- Work with carriers, hauliers and agents to secure space and keep cargo moving
- Prepare and check shipping paperwork to make sure it is complete and correct
- Submit customs declarations and support clearance (training provided)
- Issue customer invoices and process supplier costs on time
- Keep records and daily tasks up to date on the company systems
- Follow all regulations and safety procedures, including those for dangerous goods
- Step in to cover absent colleagues and take on other reasonable tasks
Key Requirements;
- At least 6 months’ experience, ideally in transport or logistics and customs clearance
- Sharp attention to detail
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly
- Clear written and spoken communication
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and quick to pick up new software
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent
- Legally entitled to work in Ireland
- A plus: a degree or diploma in logistics or international trade, experience across road, air and sea, knowledge of Incoterms, or a dangerous goods certificate
Hours;
- Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
- 08:00am to 17:00pm, with a 1-hour break
Pay and Benefits;
- €40,000 to €45,000 per year, depending on experience
- Permanent, full-time position
