Role Details
- Role: Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist – Mental Health
- Days: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
- Pay: £35ph
- Start: ASAP
- Length: 3 months
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Mental Health Pharmacist to join a busy NHS mental health pharmacy team in East London. At Band 8a level, you will provide expert clinical pharmacy input across inpatient mental health wards and services, leading on medicines optimisation and supporting the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care to mental health patients. Duties will include clinical screening and verification of prescriptions across mental health settings, providing expert medicines advice to multidisciplinary teams, leading on clozapine and other complex psychotropic medicines management, supporting and mentoring junior pharmacy staff, and contributing to the development and implementation of medicines-related policies and guidelines within the mental health setting.
Requirements
- Current GPhC registration
- Minimum of 6 months NHS hospital experience within a mental health setting
- Demonstrable experience in senior mental health pharmacy practice
- Strong knowledge of psychotropic medicines, clozapine management, and medicines optimisation in mental health
- Experience leading or supervising pharmacy teams
- Proven ability to work effectively within mental health multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a complex clinical workload
