Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vehicle Integration Technician to join a leading technology organisation operating within the automotive sector. This position offers the opportunity to work on advanced vehicle technologies, supporting the integration, testing and validation of electrical systems across a fleet of development and prototype vehicles.
The successful candidate will be responsible for vehicle electrical architecture, systems integration, measurement equipment installation, vehicle diagnostics and technical documentation.
This role will suit candidates from automotive, electronics, vehicle systems, electrical engineering or technical integration backgrounds who enjoy hands-on engineering environments and solving complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities
- Manage the electrical integration and fit-out of test and development vehicles.
- Design and implement vehicle power distribution systems.
- Integrate testing, measurement and data acquisition systems within vehicle platforms.
- Support prototype and demonstration vehicle builds.
- Develop vehicle architecture documentation and technical specifications.
- Carry out design reviews and provide project updates, timelines and risk assessments.
- Develop technical procedures, training documentation and user guides.
- Support vehicle communication systems including CAN, FlexRay and Ethernet networks.
- Design and coordinate manufacture of mechanical fixtures and interfaces.
- Participate in supplier and technology evaluations for future projects.
- Monitor project costs, timelines and technical risks.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Provide technical support across engineering teams.
Requirements
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a relevant automotive, electronics, systems integration or technician role.
- Experience working with modern vehicle electrical architectures.
- Knowledge of CAN, FlexRay and Ethernet communication networks.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to deliver projects within agreed timelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full driving licence desirable.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
