Job Summary: This role is responsible for coordinating and continuously improving training and development activities within the Engineering function, ensuring compliance with company, regulatory, and legal requirements. The position is accountable for identifying training needs, developing effective training solutions, and ensuring the timely delivery of training programmes to support organisational and operational objectives. The role holder will work closely with leaders, subject matter experts, and trainers to ensure all colleagues within the Engineering function have the knowledge, skills, and capabilities required to perform their roles effectively.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for identifying training needs and coordinating the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programmes across the Engineering function.
- Monitor training activities to ensure compliance with company, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- Conduct training needs analyses and coordinate the identification and assignment of qualified trainers to support effective learning outcomes.
- Schedule and coordinate training activities in alignment with Engineering rostering and operational requirements.
- Act as the training subject matter expert, providing guidance on all aspects of the training lifecycle, including needs analysis, curriculum development, delivery, evaluation, and follow-up.
- Support new and transferring colleagues in completing induction and role-based training requirements in accordance with their assigned curricula.
- Develop, maintain, and periodically review Job Function Curricula (JFCs) for employees and contractors within the Engineering function.
- Coordinate and oversee the PDOCS and QDOCS Periodic Review process within Engineering.
- Monitor, analyse, and report training compliance and performance metrics for the Engineering department.
- Provide expert guidance and support on training compliance requirements, processes, and related queries.
- Identify capability-building, development, and upskilling opportunities across Engineering roles and implement training programmes to address current and future business needs.
- Partner with Engineering leaders and subject matter experts to ensure training programmes support operational excellence and workforce capability development.
Safety:
- Comply with all site safety requirements and actively promote a strong safety culture.
- Ensure training activities are conducted in accordance with applicable safety standards and procedures. Training Compliance
- Support and monitor training compliance across the Engineering function through reporting, follow-up, and coaching.
- Promote accountability for training completion and qualification requirements.
- Recognise that ultimate responsibility for training compliance and completion of Job Function Curricula rests with each colleague and their respective people leader.
Site Training System:
- Responsible for management of the systems for procedures and training and implementation of a best-in-class training system for the Engineering Function
- Adhere to the site training system and assures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards GSOP-000006
- Identify training needs through engagement with stakeholders and training needs analyses (TNA/LNA) and develop effective learning solutions to address capability gaps.
- Support the site training team with regards to reporting
- Support audit readiness, supporting teams with audit readiness activities.
