An excellent opportunity is available for a Social Worker to join Primary Care Services in South Dublin.
The role will be based across the Dundrum, Balally and surrounding areas.
Primary Care provides a generic, cradle-to-grave service to clients throughout the region, supporting individuals and families to address difficulties, access appropriate services and develop community-based supports.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Provide a direct point of access for the local community, delivering initial and holistic social work assessments and interventions to individuals and families.
- Provide an initial assessment service across all care groups and develop effective referral pathways with other social work and networked services.
- Work in partnership with service users to identify individual and collective needs and co-create early interventions and/or social action strategies.
- Manage and prioritise an appropriate caseload.
- Provide supportive counselling, emotional and practical support, and information to service users and their families.
- Adopt a holistic approach to enhancing the quality of life, health and social well-being of people within the designated service area.
- Promote independence, self-reliance, self-determination and empowerment among service users, families and local community groups.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A recognised qualification in Social Work and CORU registration.
- 2026 graduates are welcome to apply.
- Postgraduate social work experience in a similar service is desirable but not essential.
- A placement within Primary Care or a similar setting will be considered.
- A full driver's licence and access to a car.
